ClassGraphic Anne Holst will review the history of shellfishing in Rhode Island from early colonial times to the 21st century, focusing on oysters, scallops, and hard-shell clams. Anne spent 16 years as an enforcement officer of the Department of Environmental Management, working primarily in the enforcement of harvest and marketing regulations of the shellfishing industries. She’ll bring samples of harvesting tools and there will be time to share personal experiences.
