This course will be held on-site at Mill Pond Preserve, a Charlestown Land Trust (CLT)–protected property with public access and hiking trails. It will provide an introduction to the work of land trusts in general, and to the mission and activities of CLT. The Land Trust protects nearly 700 acres of ecological, historical, and scenic land of significance, increases protected acreage through acquisition projects, and stewards the properties it cares for through regular monitoring and habitat restoration. The course will conclude with a guided hike through Mill Pond Preserve.

Notice

Please read:  Mill Pond Preserve is located on Route 2 (Charlestown, RI), just north of the Route 1 intersection. Going north it is the first driveway on the right after the entrance to Simple Pleasures. Look for signs. Visitors should wear sturdy shoes and are encouraged to bring binoculars. No restroom facilities on site.
