Carolina Hatchery Tour and Learn to Fish
ID :
2018
« back to classes page
Rhode Island DEM’s Division of Fish and Wildlife periodically stocks trout species into designated lakes, ponds, rivers, and streams across the state. Since 1928, Rhode Island has acquired and managed several hatcheries specifically designed to raise trout for the benefit of anglers. This is an opportunity to learn about the different trout species raised and stocked in Rhode Island, their life history, how this industry has changed over the past 150 years, and how it contributes not only to angler enjoyment but also to freshwater habitat conservation.
