Western Gunslingers: The Truth Behind the Westerns
ID :
2174
« back to classes page
It’s no secret that the history of the American West has been exaggerated and distorted in Hollywood westerns and other media. The intent of the course is to present the unvarnished truth as far as it can be ascertained from historical records. The series consists of five PowerPoint lectures on the life and times of gunslingers who lived in the American West in the late 19th century and are well-known in American popular culture, specifically Wild Bill Hickok, Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson, Buffalo Bill Cody, and Annie Oakley.
