Seven Years at the Sunday Friendship Breakfast

CourseGraphic Jan and Kathy spent seven years as volunteers at the Mathewson Street United Methodist Church in Providence. They were two of the many people from all walks of life who fed and clothed those in need every Sunday morning. Most of the time Jan had his camera around his neck. After a while he realized that besides the hot meal, what many of these folks really wanted was a listening ear and some friendship. His camera helped with that. Jan will share his experiences working with his friends at the church. We will also look at the work of some famous and not-so-famous street photographers, and Jan will share some tips and techniques for taking photos on the street.
