ClassGraphic “Tora, Tora, Tora!” signified Japan’s assessment of its attack on Pearl Harbor (“tora” being Japanese  code indicating that complete surprise had been attained). What led up to this infamous attack heard around the world, and how was the U.S. ultimately able to change defeat into victory? This in-depth exploration of World War II in the Pacific Theater focuses on the period 1941 to 1945. The course is divided into four topics: Pearl Harbor and the Coming of War; Miracle at Midway (Turning the Tide); Palm Trees, Mud and Bugs (World War II in the South and Southwest Pacific); and On to Japan (the Central Pacific).
