Dutch Post-Impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh’s work represents the archetype of Expressionism—the art of emotional spontaneity in painting. We will model van Gogh’s painting techniques and be encouraged to use bold strokes of color and energetic lines to create a van Gogh-inspired painting. We will also briefly discuss Expressionism and the idea of painting with a great deal of emotion, energy, and color. Participants do not need to have any painting experience, and all art supplies will be provided.
