Playing with Classics: Uncle Vanya

Both Anton Chekhov with his masterpiece, Uncle Vanya, and Christopher Durang, with his brilliant comedic homage to Chekhov, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, humanize our needs to assess our lives, make sense of losses and successes, and do it with layers of humor and emotion. We will read, explore, and possibly act some scenes and monologues as desired by the class...or not if that is not your cup of tea...or vodka. Having played Chekhov, I know there is not any one "right" way, so let’s see where these wonderful plays take us.
