Johnny Cash recorded his first #1 Billboard hit in 1956 with "I Walk the Line." The song remained on the record charts for over 43 weeks and sold over 2 million copies. With its distinctive "boom-chicka-boom" sound, common in many of Cash's songs, it helped make him an international star.
