ID :
2201
« back to classes page
Children’s television and streaming media have become powerful ways to introduce young audiences to science. This session explores how complex topics—such as climate science—are transformed into engaging, age?appropriate stories for children ages 4–8. Drawing on the development of the PBS series
Elinor Wonders Why
and the newly released
Weather Hunters
, participants will learn how educational goals, research partnerships, and studies with children shape each episode. The session highlights how storytelling and animation bring concepts of climate, weather systems, and the natural world to life, and how media can spark curiosity and support early science learning
to come.
