ClassGraphic Shakespeare’s works span the reign of two monarchs: Queen Elizabeth I and King James. As England transitioned from Elizabeth to James, the theatre saw radical transformations stylistically and thematically. Hear from Shakespeare and his contemporaries, and discover the shifts that occur in popular entertainment as societies change their leadership. This lecture then asks the larger question: “Are those same forces at work in society today?” Using a unique blend of monologue performance and lecture, Michael Langlois offers insights to classic works in a way that no lecture alone can provide.
