Welcome to your first adventure in French! In this four-class series we will become acquainted with the French language and with French and Francophone cultures. This course focuses on acquiring and practicing basic conversational French with a focus on travel vocabulary. The course is based on a modified immersion model, where we strive to use French as much as possible.

Class activities and conversations will take place mostly in French, at an accessible level for students and with support from the instructor. English will be used to discuss culture, grammar topics, and respond to questions.  Throughout the series, we will touch on the four language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing). Between classes students will be encouraged to review material and  work independently on select exercises in the textbook.
